Pila'a - Kauai's Secluded North Shore Beach

Guests staying in Kauai Vacation Hideaway (Hideaway Bay and/or Plumeria Moon) enjoy a short walk to the secluded Pila'a Beach just below the bluffs. A private trail leads to secluded and beautiful Pila'a Beach which is for many a dream come true. Generally the only people around are 'tow-in' surfers looking to ride the big waves created by the reef just offshore, but that is usually only in the winter. Otherwise the beach is generally uninhabited. Sunsets at Pila'a are exquisite, and the waves crashing against the reef offer guests a rhythmic sense of Zen.

Facing almost directly north, Pila'a offers excellent shell hunting, walking, wading and splashing around in some of the small swimming holes, yet swimming and snorkeling conditions vary depending on the ocean tide. Therefore, swimming long distances and deeper-water snorkeling is not recommended here. For that we recommend trying one of the other incredible Kauai North Shore beaches which are just minutes away:

1. Anini Beach
2. Kalihiwai Beach
3. Secrets Beach
4. Rock Quarry Beach
5. Pila'a Beach
6. Larson's Beach

The abundance and depth of the picturesque white sand, the views of the bird life around the Kilauea Point conservation area, and the extremely private nature of the location make this one of the best beaches on the North Shore of Kauai. Only a 10 minute walk or 15 minute hike, depending on your level of physical activity, our Kauai vacation rental offers an extremely unique beach experience.
